Okay, I made this stamp because I really felt like I needed to, since I haven’t seen a stamp for this particular issue yet.

This is for all of us who are sick and tired of having random people who happen to wander into our galleries every so often and feel the need to post extremely rude comments that are literally bashing our favorite fandoms (and sometimes characters). I know that all of us who enjoy drawing fan art have gone through it at some point. It’s always the same story: you get this one person you’ve never even seen before, who doesn’t watch your gallery, and who suddenly comes out of nowhere and posts a comment on a piece of your fan art that goes something like this: “I hate this show!”, “—insert fandom here—sucks!”, “—insert fandom here—is stupid.”, etc, etc. The amount of rudeness that some people can dish out never fails to amaze me.

The way I see it, there is no sense in it and no cause for it. It’s not going to make me mad if someone doesn’t like a particular fandom I love (everyone is different and has their own thing they love). Just because I draw fan art of whatever fandom I like, it doesn’t give them the right to come by and tell me how horrible and lame they think that fandom is. Do they honestly think I want to hear it? If I’m drawing fan art of it then it’s obvious I’m a fan of it, so WHY do they feel the need to come over and bash it in front of me? I guess they think it’ll make me mad enough to start a fight with them or something. Honestly, I could care less if they think it’s lame. If they don’t like it, then so what? It doesn’t mean I feel the same way, and whatever they say about it is not going to change my mind and stop me from loving it. I see fan art of fandoms I don’t like all the time while browsing, but I’m NOT gonna go over to that piece of fan art and bash that person’s favorite fandom in front of their face. Why should I? If they like it, then it’s their business and thing. I’m cool with that. I’m not them, and they aren’t me. Everyone has the right to like what they want and they should be free to express their love for what they like.

Bashing someone’s favorite fandom in front of them does hurt feelings, and it IS rude, disrespectful, and selfish. NO one wants to have what they love bashed in front of them. If you’re tired of this sort of thing going on on Deviantart (or more specifically in your own gallery), feel free to use this stamp or +fave it.
